FIRST, if you have reached this page and are looking to help someone who is being removed from the United States, I am sorry. Our Immigration system is clearly broken, incredibly complex, and does not reflect our country's core values of opportunity and hope for the future. Even more problematic is that those individuals going through removal proceedings generally cannot afford the cost of retaining a competent lawyer to represent them in the process. Indeed, part of the reason I have set up this page is to offer a resource to the many individuals that seek my services, but for which I cannot represent them at a reduce cost. An average removal case, will take between 30-40 hours of an attorney's time. At an hourly rate of about $350.00 (national average) that is a total fee of around $12,000.00 dollars. 

This page and its resources are intended to provide general information. The materials are not written for an individual with no familiarity with the U.S. legal system or only  a basic understanding of English. Those types of materials may be coming in the future, but these materials are intended for those trying to help an individual, out of kindness, concern, and at no cost. Moreover, the materials are nonspecific and in that regard are intended primarily as an example and a starting point for going it alone in front of the Immigration Court. 

Finally, if you are on this page out of curiosity, you should know that the intent of the page is also to show a proof of concept to non-profits and community organizations to either emulate or contact Formica, P.C.  to take over the hosting and maintenance of this project.

Formica, P.C. is not creating these materials for a Notario or "travel agent" to misuse and profit from these free materials. Turning to the specific terms of use:

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your internet account information and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your internet account or any other breach of security that may effect this website.

2. Prohibited Activities. You are prohibited from engaging in any of the following activities on Formicalaw.com: Using the website for any unlawful purpose or to solicit others to perform or participate in any unlawful acts. This includes the unlicensed practice of law. Transmitting any worms, viruses, or any code of a destructive nature.Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the website or any other systems or networks connected to the website.Engaging in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the website or the servers and networks connected to the website.

3. Intellectual Property Rights. All content on Formicalaw.com, and the pro se materials, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Formica, P.C. or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on the website without our express written permission other than to ethically assist an individual or to process your own individual matter before the Executive Office of Immigration Review, the Immigration Court. 

4. Limitation of Liability Formica, P.C. shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the website or the materials contained in the pro se project. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of legal opportunity, profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. You also release Formica, P.C. and its attorneys from any liability regarding the limitations or consequences of providing pro se assistance under 8 C.F.R. 1003.17.

5. Privacy Policy. Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Use by reference, explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
